Chapitre 2 : Terminal
Terminal (MusVerre, Sars-Poteries, France, from Sept. 2022 to Jan. 2023) is an invitation to travel to the heart of the poetry of vital energy through the spectrum of glass. The ingredients of the primordial forces of the universe are found here: the vibrations of the elements, their gravitational choreographies, light, and its perpetual movements. Correspondences articulate in space to tell a cosmological story of the living.
The visitor is welcomed by Principles Terminal G050, a monumental work where more than three hundred sixty black spheres are articulated on an eleven-meter-long steel skeleton. The matte glass balls reflect in the dark; they are the evocation of the very principles of matter at its appearance. The atomic presence of this work reflects a symbolic cartography of the infinite. An imaginary genetic sequence, between mirror and black hole, like the image of a quest for our place within the universe. Then we discover Matter Sunrise Terminal G12, a majestic mirrored glass ensemble embodying the intensity of solar energy. The work is a fiery constellation of several meters with organic, vibrant colors, symbolizing the primary magma of the origins of creation. The accumulation of these incandescent circular forms and the carnal nature of the matter echo our corporality, its warmth, its movement. The work Gravity Ripples Terminal G020, which on this occasion integrates the permanent collection of the MusVerre, is also visible from the exhibition. This piece is composed of a succession of deep blue glass discs of different sizes, chained together to form a horizontal vibratory wave in suspension. It evokes the oscillation of the curvature of space-time that defies matter, while simultaneously attesting to a historical glassmaking creation technique, bearing witness to an unalterable reverence for this same matter.
